Matthiew Vaxiviere has finished taking the pole position in a hotly contested qualifying at the Red Bull Ring under mixed weather conditions, which have completely altered the session. Finally the Top 3 have completed Roberto Merhi and Olivier Rowland, a few tenths of French.

The second qualifying day in the Formula Renault 3.5 has seen it all. The Austrian sky has made the rounds at the Red Bull Ring, and the rain has been making an appearance on the track, leaving an asphalt mixed conditions. The session started DELETRAZ led followed by Van Buuren and Visser, just as they had only been five minutes. At the same moment, the first yellow flag appeared on turn six by an off without major consequences for the development of the classification.

The minutes went by and the times went down, the track was drying and asphalt each time was faster. It was then that the Pons Racing Meindert Van Buuren was put in head surprisingly, taking nearly half a second competition, which at that moment were the closest Vaxiviere, Celis Jr and Fantin. Soon after, Egor Orudzhev caused a new caution on track.

In the absence of a quarter of an hour it seemed that the rain could get back on track, with little intensity, but enough to cause anyone could improve. At that moment Van Buuren kept the lead followed by Brazilian Fantin and Celis Jr. But that was when the red flag appeared on track; Beitske Visser stood in the middle of the track layout of Spielberg and had to leave the session.

With 16 minutes ahead of the march he was reprimanded, but until ten minutes in the absence of improved no end because of the light rain falling. Van Buuren seemed that he could achieve his first pole position in World Series but not end that way. The rain ceased and the track again to improve, which Merhi took advantage to take the lead, leaving the timesheets a temporary brace from Pons Racing, while strakka racing of Malja third set.

The classification was planted in the final minutes with nothing decided, the track was improving with every lap and times are constantly demeaned. A two minutes Vaxiviere leader stood for just half a tenth away with the Dams of Nyck De Vries. Merhi fell to third place, but his final lap made him move up to second place, far from the new lap of Vaxiviere, who improved his record to hold the pole. Third he crept a little discreet Rowland in this classification, but the time was the ideal time.

So Vaxiviere and Merhi will start tomorrow from the front row, with Rowland and De Vries to the backs. All other positions have been led by a more than surprising fifth position Nissany Roy, who has kept ahead of Stockinger, Van Buuren, Celis Jr, Latifi and closing the area Fantin Top 10.

Tomorrow at 10:25 local time, the first race of the weekend will be held in the Austrian Red Bull Ring circuit in the bucolic town of Spielberg.
