Vandoorne gets his frist pole

The newcomer this year’s Formula Renault 3.5 Series, Stoffel Vandoorne scored his first pole position in the first ranking of the year, thanks in part to the red flag caused a lack of 1 minute and a half by the end of the session. Both ISR that had dominated much of the session continued, followed by Da Costa who finished fourth.

The session began with a wet track and the riders left the track at once but Da Costa Negras and pit Piget expected to hinder anyone else in his lap. Melker (Tech 1 Racing) was first getting into the first few minutes of the session, as we had used the slipstream of his teammate Mikhail Aleshin (Tech 1 Racing), but the Dutch left back following track causing the yellow flag and therefore the best time of their removal, leaving the first position Zanella (ISR)

Only having spent 7 minutes in, Marinescu (Zeta Corse) and Cunha (AV Formula) dared to put dry tires. Although Marinescu has not worked too well.

At the equator the classification ISR dominated sorting, and pilots dared to go out with dry tires. But Stoffel Vandoorne (Fortec Motorsport), also joined the fight for pole position. To this Sirotkin (ISR), followed by driving circuit.

From here the track was already really able to put the dry tires, and all the drivers that came in the last 10 minutes late, left to dry tires. But Fatin (Arden Caterham), causing another yellow flag, so his time was removed, as had happened with Melker.

Martsenko surprised everyone getting 5th after the problems he had yesterday, which led up to the last two sessions pounds.

The favorite for the title, Antonio Felix Da Costa, Red Bull young driver, but could not get 13E, despite having set the fastest second sector all.

With just three minutes from the end, all pilots (less Melker and Fatin) were on track, and Vandoorne came very fast and was getting first for more than nine tenths of a difference. And a few seconds later a red flag caused by Marco Sørensen, who was stopped just before crossing the finish line, Stoffel Vandoorne did that in his first classification category got its debut as the first pole position of the season
