Uncovering Alonso’s teammates in Daytona

The British Lando Norris and Phil Hanson, both British and only 18 years old, will team up with the double world champion of F1.

One of the keys to success in team racing is the rapport between the drivers. Fernando, always labeled as an individualist and not being very good at teamwork, has his first great opportunity to prove that it is not so. He will share the seat with two young pearls. Phil Hanson, 18, has been the youngest driver in history to enter the Top 10 of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Norris, best known to fans of F1, is the test driver for Mclaren.

The two drivers have the difficult task to share the car with one of the best. With the support of Zak Brown, the two were chosen by the head of Mclaren, Phil and Norris and Alonso should be a team and put the talent on the table. Although this, in the world of resistance, does not guarantee any success.

Lando Norris, the British pearl

The Briton, test driver of Mclaren and who has already climbed the car of the team in the test of Hungary last summer, where he scored an excellent second place is one of the hopes of british motorsport. He is called to fight among the greats and despite his age he has already demonstrated it, in other categories.

British Formula 4 champion in 2015, Formula Renault 2.0 champion in the Eurocup and NEC categories in 2016, and European Formula 3 champion in 2017. Best of all, in all of these championships was a rookie.

His main handicap is his inexperience in the world of resistance. It will be his first race. If he is able to adapt quickly to the car and show his talent, the team will win possibilities to get a better result.

Phil Hanson, experience in resistance

Zak Brown did not have a bad eye when he had the services of Phil Hanson for Daytona. In addition to Norris’ innate talent, Hanson’s experience in resistance is added. He started in the championship of Britcar, a low class event in Great Britain, but in which he dominated with his Audi R8.

He signed for Tockwith Motorsports, and participated in the Asian Le Mans Series, where he won the championship in the LMP3 class, winning in Malaysia and Fuji. His great performance earned him a seat in the LMP2 category of the 24 hours of Le Mans, being eleventh overall, but entering the ninth position in his category. He became the youngest driver to get at Top 10. In that race he shared the car with Karun Chandhok, a former F1 driver.
