The Italian team announced the drivers who will race for them in GP3 series in 2016. They are: Antonio Fuoco, Artur Janosz, Giuliano Alesi and Sandy Stuvik.

Trident chose to retain three GP3 experienced driver for the 2016 season to challenge reigning team ART Grand Prix.

Antonio Fuoco is the most experienced driver of the squad and definitely places himself as one of the main contenders for the championship. The Ferrari backed Italian driver tested for Trident in Abu Dhabi and the “chemistry was great straight away” as stated in the press release. Fuoco finished last year in 6th position with Carlin.

Artur Janosz, unlike Fuoco, extends his partnership with Trident after his maiden year in GP3. After a difficult start, he managed to show some constancy and regularly scored points. He finished 14th of the championship and Trident relies on him for stability in the team.

Sandy Stuvik is the third driver who already raced in GP3, but was not able to show the level of performance of his future teammates when he was racing with Status. With ending only twice in the points, he ended up at the 17th place of the championship and will try to rebound with Trident in 2016.

The only rookie of the team is also one of the most expected drivers of his generation: Giuliano Alesi. Despite being already confirmed in GP3 series by his father, Giuliano Alesi did not reveal which team he was going to race with. He finally chose Trident after having tested for Arden International. His promising debuts in racing cars last year in French F4 made Maurizio Salvadori, Triden’s team principal, trust him:

We will be fielding four drivers that can score great results this season. I am extremely satisfied to announce our full line-up so early as it will enable us to anticipate and improve our preparation. The goal is to remain at the top of the GP3 Series in both the driver and the team standings.”
