The french young driver from Mercedes program, Esteban Ocon, was hired by Force India last season and had to share his box with Sergio Pérez. It was the beginning of one of the most strongest lineups of the actual F1 and one of the most hot, that was something that Toto Wolff, Mercedes team boss, disliked and expects that his young driver could keep behind the mexican next season.
All began with the clash at the European GP at Bakú, where they were to away, and they were close to finish the race before the end. That was repeated agt the Hungarian GP and the Belgian GP. Since the belgian clash, Force India imposed team orders to secure the points from there to the end of the championship.
“What bothers us are these intra-team rivalries that end with two damaged cars, this applies not only to Esteban, but also to Checo [Perez]. As a team boss, I’m so annoyed by that”, explains Wolff who is satisfied from the french evolution, probably looking to the future, because rumours talks about Ocon could be gthe natural change of Bottas.
From now on, Wolff expects that Ocon “performed very well this year against a very strong Sergio Perez, next year he has to take the next step and improve this performance. He is incredibly consistent, makes few mistakes and has great speed.he will have to develop further in this respect and outperform Perez.”
