Sebastien Buemi claimed his third win of the season in Buenos Aires ahead of Jean-Eric Vergne and Lucas Di Grassi although he crossed the line under investigation.

Lucas Di Grassi started on pole position ahead of Jean-Eric Vergne and Sébastien Buemi. Di Grassi and Buemi got good get away but the Swiss could not pass the French man. On the first lap, race direction provoked a full course yellow as Adam Carroll had stopped on track. He eventually managed to get back racing and the race could start again.

At the restart, Sam Bird had a contact and bent his wheel. Meanwhile, Vergne overtook Di Grassi for the lead and Buemi followed the Frenchman. Nicolas Prost overtook Rosenqvist and Piquet within the fifth lap, getting into fifth position. One lap later, Sébastien Buemi passed Vergne for the lead and Turvey passed Di Grassi for third place.

Di Grassi kept dropping down the order as he probably used his damaged car from FP2. Meanwhile, Bird had to stop his car in the box as the damage to his wheel went worse. The three drivers benefiting from fanboost were Buemi, Di Grassi and Abt. On lap 11, Maro Engel spun at T1 but eventually got back on track. One lap later, Prost overtook Di Grassi for P4. Engel again faced a few problems and had to stop his car.

Behind Buemi and Vergne, there was a battle for third place between Turvey, Prost and Di Grassi while Evans was the first to drop under ten percent of battery. On lap 19, Turvey, Evans and Duval changed cars. Evans got a five-second penalty for over speeding under FCY. On lap 20, all the other drivers except Mahindra drivers who pitted one lap later.

After car change, Buemi was still leading from Vergne and Prost. Turvey lost three places during car change and Rosenqvist faced a problem during the car change and had to lose one lap in the pits. On lap 24, Di Grassi passed Prost for provisional podium. Vergne was closing on Buemi as Di Grassi was getting more comfortable with his second car and closed on the Frenchman.

Further away, there was a train forming behind Abt for P10 as the German used his fanboost. Despite being under investigation, Heidfeld overtook Sarrazin and Frijns within the same lap while Buemi used his fanboost to get away from Vergne. Heidfeld had a drive through penalty for being under the minute pit stop time.

Lopez managed to go up to P11 with three laps to go while Di Grassi was put under investigation for unsafe release. The battle for P6 between Dragon cars was very tight in the llast laps. In the penultimate lap, Felix Rosenqvist set fastest lap and Sam Bird hit the wall.

Sébastien Buemi claimed a third victory in the season ahead of Jean-Eric Vergne and Lucas Di Grassi (under investigation as we write these lines). Prost, Piquet, Duval, Abt, D’Ambrosio, Turvey and Lopez completed the top 10.
