Nael Theophile made a decisive move to win 2025 Macau GP in F3, as Antonio Fuoco took the spot in GT race and Jules Roussel in inaugural F4 event.
F3 –
Naël, 18, went from third to first in a thrilling double pass on Enzo Deligny and KCMG ENYA Pinnacle Motorsport team-mate Mari Boya with the leading trio running three abreast towards Lisboa Corner on lap 14. With the safety car deployed shortly after, Naël couldn’t be beaten as Boya – who led on two occasions – was forced to settle for second.
“To be honest I was not believing in this, they made a mistake and I just go full throttle, sixth gear,” Frenchman Naël said. “The pace was there the whole weekend. The team are just amazing, thanks to them.”
Deligny took third for the R-ace GP team, the winner of the first FIA FR World Cup in 2024, but there was frustration for Freddie Slater. Slater, part of the SJM Theodore Prema Racing line-up, started from pole position, lost the lead to Boya at the first corner but reclaimed top spot from Boya heading to Lisboa on lap four. The Qualification Race winner was starting to pull ahead when the high-paced action was neutralised behind the safety car on lap nine.
The lead was Boya’s again on lap 11 with another slipstream move ahead of the braking zone for Lisboa. But it all went wrong for Slater before the end of the lap when he got out of shape through R Bend and struck the barriers with the rear of his car and retired.

GT –
Antonio Fuoco scored Ferrari’s first win in the FIA GT World Cup, emulating his Qualification Race triumph on Saturday by taking victory in Sunday’s Main Race on Macau’s iconic street track. Fuoco, driving a Ferrari 296 GT3, was never truly threatened during the 16-lap contest and took the chequered flag for AF Corse SRL with a winning margin of 3.960s. Two-time FIA GT World Cup winner Raffaele Marciello finished second for BMW with Porsche-driving Laurin Heinrich making it three different Pirelli-equipped manufacturers in the top three as Audi-powered Joel Eriksson finished fourth.
“Coming here after last year was tough but, in the end, it was a perfect weekend,” said Italian driver Fuoco. “We can never ask for something better than this and I’m just so happy for me, for the team and everyone, we really deserved this. It has been a really intensive season but this is something we’ll remember for many years.”
There was action from the outset when Alessio Picariello spun his Porsche exiting the first corner after a brush with Marciello as the pack jostled for position. Ayhancan Güven, who’d just demoted the slow-starting Yifei Ye for third, then crashed into the tyre barriers at Lisboa Bend following contact with Heinrich. Unable to take avoiding action, Luca Engstler charged into the back of Güven’s stranded Porsche with Dorian Boccolaci colliding with the rear of Engstler’s Lamborghini to trigger a safety car intervention.
Racing resumed on lap four with Fuoco pressing home his advantage to score the first FIA GT World Cup win by a non-German manufacturer. Chinese driver Ye, who’d started second in his Ferrari, finished fifth with Sheldon van der Linde coming through from 12th to claim sixth.

F4 –
Jules Roussel has made more motor sport history by winning an all-action inaugural FIA F4 World Cup showdown in Macau today. The French racer got the perfect start to lead pole-sitter Emanuele Olivieri through the first corner. Although he briefly trailed Rayan Caretti after his compatriot pulled off a fine overtaking move at Lisboa Bend on the fourth lap, the 19-year-old was back ahead before Mandarin Bend on lap eight as the thrilling battle for victory intensified.
Roussel was still ahead when Caretti crashed at the Solitude Esses later in the lap to trigger a second safety car intervention. Despite the best efforts of the volunteer trackside marshals to clear Caretti’s stricken car as quickly as possible, the race concluded under safety car conditions with Qualification Race winner Olivieri finishing second and Rintaro Sato taking third from 11th on the grid. “It’s the best race of my life in terms of experience and the result and I see it only as a positive to win this race,” said Roussel.
“We take the opportunity and now I’m a winner in Macau, it’s one of my dreams. It was a very tricky race with lots of changes of position, so I’m very grateful and happy to win. It was quite a big battle with Rayan, there were some calculated risks, but I could stay in front. I’ve been able to learn a lot against the best F4 drivers in the world, the level was very high and I hope this result can help me with a drive for next year.”
French F4 runner-up Roussel was in front when the safety car was deployed on lap one after Shimo Zhang spun and collected Itsuki Sato exiting Mandarin before Kyuho Lee hit the tyre barriers at Lisboa. Racing resumed on lap three with Sato making rapid progress by demoting Kimi Yu Tsai Chan for fifth as Caretti increased the pressure on Roussel in the battle for first. Caretti, who started the Qualification Race from 15th on the grid, completed a clean passing move on Roussel at Lisboa on lap four but Roussel was back ahead on lap eight after Caretti held him off as they braked for Lisboa during the previous tour.
But with Caretti crashing and the race running out of laps for the action to resume, Roussel’s path to victory was all but guaranteed. Behind Japanese driver Sato, American Sebastian Wheldon – who started the Qualification Race from pole position only to crash out on lap one – came through from 15th to finish fourth ahead of Indian Aryaman Bansal, Brit Thomas Bearman, Hong Kong racer Chan, Man Hei Cheong from Macau and Argentine Gino Trappa.
British F4 champion Fionn McLaughlin took the chequered flag in sixth position but a 30-secon penalty for not being in his original grid position by the time he reached the designated line during the formation lap dropped the Irishman down the order.
