The model proposed by the teams aims to be similar to that of Formula 1, with a share in the profits, while MGPSEG (the former Dorna) seeks to maintain the current structure that defines a fixed payment, independent of total revenues. The most recent proposal includes an increase of around 1 million euros compared to the current agreement, but the teams believe that is not sufficient.
Representatives of the manufacturers met on Saturday night to discuss strategies ahead of the Sunday meeting. Among the attendees were executives from Ducati, KTM, Honda, and Yamaha, who emphasized the importance of reaching a consensus to avoid a standstill in the process of signing riders and renewals for 2027.
Financial issues have become the main point of conflict, as well as matters related to the control teams have over their places and investments. MGPSEG also demands that teams improve their marketing and communications departments and increase resources for promotional events.
