The DTM Top 10

With the last race in Hockenheim, DTM 2013 season is closed , with the first career victory for Timo Glock and coronation as world champion Mike Rockenfeller.

It ends in the archives of another season of DTM , fought less than that of 2013 thriller but always nice to follow, with many races where side by side overtakes are not missed. As often happens in the German series , from one season to another very protagonists have become totally opposite roles.

TOP

Mike Rockenfeller : quarter last year, remains the best and most Audi drivers winning the title by sweeping away the competition with an impressive consistency of performance . Two wins and five podiums seasonal crown a career in growing in the DTM from 2010 to this year was the 7th , 6th , 4th and 1st. Roadroller. Vote: 10

Augusto Farfus : great end to the season for the Brazilian last to surrender to Rockenfeller. Pay the three withdrawals in the first half of the season, but it remains the driver with the most wins this season (3). Single-minded. Vote: 9

Bruno Spengler : for the first part of the season he was the real opponent of Rockenfeller. He had the last part of the season to forget. I don’t put him on the FLOP list, just cause when he is on the track, there is exciting show. Fluctuating. Vote: 6

Christian Vietoris : he is the first of the Mercedes drivers. Never had outstanding performances. But with a undertone Mercedes as this year, he has been able to pull off the most. Constant. Vote: 8

Robert Wickens : When his Mercedes is ok, he is there with the head of the race. Among the technical problems, drive mistakes, and misfortunes, collects less than he could have. To remember in this season the wonderful first place at Nurburgring after a wonderful overtake at the last 7 laps. Postponed. Vote: 7

Audi fails again with the double 24 Hours of Le Mans / DTM Championship , two results of absolute prestige to the house of Ingolstadt at the start of the league that was supposed to act as a third wheel between BMW and Mercedes . A gorgeous Rockenfeller allows instead to celebrate the riders and the teams with the Phoenix team , leaving only the manufactures title to BMW. Vote : 9

FLOP

Edoardo Mortara : really disappointing season for our standard-bearer , a veteran of the extraordinary 2012 season . Just for the results of last year, we expected even on the upper floors , but it’s not gone to meet a season full of disappointments and misfortunes . Only 3 points gained for him the penultimate place in the standings , and many regrets for the final race on the Norisring , with the clash with Gary Paffett on the last lap which left him in tears, just a step away from the podium. Alternating light. Vote: 5

Martin Tomczyk : the world champion of 2011 continued in the worst way the downward undertaken last season. If last year was still managed to win 69 points , this year it stopped at 10 caught up with 5th place in the crazy wet race at the Nurburgring . Who has seen him? Vote: 3

Andy Priaulx :  after two WTCC titles, and the disastrous past season, we were hoping this year in a rescue. Instead, another subdued season and only two races finished to points. Not received. Vote: 4

Mercedes : After the bitter end of 2012, was given the rematch of the house in Stuttgart. They got some good results , with two more victories filled with the asterisk Wickens at Norisring , but the Stuttgart certainly can not be satisfied with a league in which his pilots were never in contention for the title and where he finished which is third in the constructors championship for teams in that .
