The 2026 Champions of the WSK Super Master Series

In the closing race at Franciacorta, the titles went to Orlov (KZ2), Krutogolov (OK), Pizzonia (OKJ), Burgess (MINI U10), Pace (MINI Gr.3), Perico (OK-NJ).

 Franciacorta, Castrezzato (ITA), 22.03.2026

The edition that concluded at the Franciacorta Karting Track was certainly one of the most beautiful and hard-fought of the WSK Super Master Series. The final round was characterized by an incredible atmosphere in a paddock packed with teams and drivers, further elevated by a series of exciting races within a world-class sporting and entertainment framework.

The international capital of karting.

This year’s championship was also the most attended ever for the second consecutive time across five rounds, with events spanning Italy from south to north: from La Conca to Sarno, Viterbo, and finally Lonato and Franciacorta. The 2026 WSK Super Master Series recorded an average of 330 drivers from 60 countries, reaching its peak in the final two rounds at Lonato and Franciacorta with 375 and 372 verified drivers, respectively. These are impressive figures for a WSK Promotion event, increasingly cementing its status as the international capital of karting.

A weekend enriched by Andrea Kimi Antonelli’s presence.

The Franciacorta weekend saw also the much welcomed visit from Andrea Kimi Antonelli. Following his F1 victory in China, Antonelli met with Mercedes Formula 1 Executive Director Toto Wolff at Franciacorta, who was there to follow his son, Jack Fynn, in the MINI U10 category. Beyond the pleasure of returning to the environment that launched his motorsport career, Kimi spent time with the drivers of the AKM team—headed by his father, Marco Antonelli—which maintains a significant presence at WSK events.

The Final stages in Franciacorta.

After 44 qualifying heats held to narrow down the 372 drivers in Franciacorta to the finalists, the Prefinals and Finals on Sunday, March 22, determined the final points and crowned the champions of the 2026 WSK Super Master Series.

The Finals.

KZ2 – Van Walstijn wins the Final, Orlov the championship.

Senna Van Walstijn (Sodikart – Sodikart/TM Kart/LeCont) claimed the Final and his third victory of the season thanks to an excellent start, while Cristian Bertuca (Birelart Racing – Birelart/Iame), winner of Prefinal-A, failed to nail the start this time and immediately lost several positions. Trailing the Dutch driver—who had also won at Sarno and Viterbo—were Frenchmen Emilien Denner (Formula K SRP – IPK/TM Kart) and Jean Nomblot (CPB – Sodikart/TM Kart), who held their positions until the end of the Final. The championship leader, the Russian driver Max Orlov with Sodikart and winner of Prefinal-B, recovered positions from the heats to finish fourth—enough to secure the championship title. The Russian driver thus confirmed the leadership he has held since the first race at La Conca, including a victory at Lonato.

Bertuca finished fifth, and along with Van Walstijn, they step down from the WSK Super Master Series Hall of Fame, where the two drivers had held the titles for the last four years: Van Walstijn won in 2025 and 2022, while Bertuca claimed the title in 2023 and 2024.

In the final sprint, Burgess finished in second place, just a hair ahead of the Spaniard Oliver Weytjens (Team Driver – KR/Iame). Among the other top finishers, the Canadian Leo Simone (Pantano by DAM – Pantano/Iame) took fourth, while Thailand’s Max Zvarich (BabyRace – Parolin/Iame) came in fifth. Luigi D’Ascoli (Modena Kart – Parolin/TM Kart/Vega) broke the dominance of championship leader Niccolò Perico (KR Motorsport – KR/Iame) to secure his first victory in the WSK Super Master Series. The Italian driver for Modena Kart won the Final ahead of Switzerland’s Aurelio Longhitano (Spirit-Karting.CH – Tony Kart/Modena Engines), then penalized, and Finland’s Leo Laitinen (Parolin Finland – Parolin/TM Kart), these too penalized. Niccolò Perico, who had won Prefinal-A, held the lead in the opening laps; however, he was attacked by rivals midway through the race and lost positions, ultimately finishing fifth. Nevertheless, thanks to his four previous victories, Perico had already secured the championship title. Fellow Italian Gioele Carrer (Emme Racing – EKS/Modena Engines) is ranked second, while Norway’s Patrick Kristiansen (MP Academy Gamoto – Henza/TM Kart) took third.

By clinching the OK-NJ title, Niccolò Perico has now won his third consecutive WSK Super Master Series title, following his previous triumphs in MINI U10 in 2024 and MINI Gr.3 in 2025.
