The young driver joins the french team for the next season of the Formula Renault Eurocup.
Tech 1 Racing team announced this Wednesday that they have signed the young driver of only 18 years, Frank Bird. The british race driver joins the team of Simon and Sarah Abadie after participating the last year in the same competition.
Frank Bird joined the Toulouse team for the winter tests before the stat of the championship which has served him to prove and show his great talent at the wheel and convince the leader of Tech 1 Racing to have him as official driver for the next season.
Frank, could not hide his hapiness: “I am very happy to join Tech 1 Racing this season in Formula Renault, it is a team with great history in the category and with great riders, I hope to follow in their footsteps and do a great job”, pointed out the brand new signing.
Although he was a rookie in the competition last year, Frank was not satisfied with the results of the previous championship, but he did “measure what he needed for his second year”.
On the other hand, from the own team, Simon Abadie indicated that they are “impatient to start working with Frank”, which he defined as: “He does not have much experience, but he has great potential. In the Barcelona tests everything went very well and he progressed a lot. He is very hungry and learns quickly. He has all the qualities to succeed on the team”, Simon explained.
The Formula Renault starts from the 13th to the 15th of April at the Paul Ricard Circuit in Great Britain. So, Frank can have a debut at home with his new team. The championship consists of 10 events and the last one will be in Barcelona, the weekend of October 19-21.
