TATIANA SCORES POINTS ON NASCAR BRAZIL DEBUT IN SANTA CRUZ DO SUL

Bogotá, April 13, 2026 – Tatiana Calderón secured her first NASCAR Brazil championship points during a challenging but encouraging debut weekend at Santa Cruz do Sul.

After technical issues in qualifying left her 19th on the grid, Tatiana showed strong pace in Race 1, climbing toward the top 10 before a multi-car incident forced her retirement.

In Race 1, Calderón demonstrated strong pace and racecraft, steadily moving up the order and closing in on the top 10. However, her progress was halted by a multi-car incident ahead, which forced her into retirement and denied her a potential points finish.

Significant setup changes were implemented ahead of Race 2, resulting in a clear improvement in lap times and overall competitiveness. Calderón once again mounted an impressive recovery drive and was on course for a top-10 result. Unfortunately, a gearbox issue forced her off track, temporarily compromising her race.

Despite the setback, Calderón managed to rejoin and take the checkered flag in 11th position, earning her first points in the championship and valuable experience in the series.

Tatiana Calderón:

“My first weekend in NASCAR Brazil was a very special and important experience. From the outset, I felt very comfortable working with everyone at SG28 Pro Racing, and I would especially like to thank Carlos for the opportunity.

There is still a lot for us to learn about the car, and this was also my first time racing in Brazil and discovering the Santa Cruz circuit, which I really enjoyed. Qualifying didn’t go as planned, and in the first race, I was forced out while trying to avoid an incident ahead.

For Race 2, we made positive setup changes and I was able to gain several positions. Unfortunately, we encountered a gearbox issue — which we are still investigating — that resulted in a spin while we were fighting for a podium in the Challenge class.

Despite everything, I leave encouraged by how much we learned this weekend, and I’m confident it will help us heading into the next round in Cascavel. We will continue working hard to improve.

I would like to thank all the fans for their support, as well as my sponsors AVL RaceTech, Con Cora, and Escudería Telmex-Claro.”

The next round of NASCAR Brazil will take place at the Cascavel circuit on May 3, where Tatiana will look to build on the progress shown and contend for top positions.
