TATIANA CALDERON CLAIMS GT CHALLENGE AMERICAS VICTORY IN GUYANA WITH NACENT RACING

Bogotá, July 14th, 2026 – Tatiana Calderón added another victory to her impressive international racing career by claiming the overall win in the GT Challenge Americas in Guyana alongside teammate Juan Diego Hernández and Nacent Racing, following a weekend defined by changing weather conditions at the demanding South Dakota Circuit.

What began as an unexpected challenge turned into a showcase of the Colombian driver’s talent and adaptability. Calderón and Hernández were originally scheduled to compete in a Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo, but a mechanical issue prevented the car from taking to the track. As a result, the team switched them into the exclusive McLaren 720S GT3X, one of only 15 ever built and the only example currently being raced anywhere in the world.

The last-minute change presented an additional challenge. Powered by a turbocharged engine, the McLaren was expected to face a tougher task around Guyana’s tight and technical circuit. However, Calderón and Hernández adapted immediately, securing pole position and setting a new lap record, proving just how quickly they were able to get up to speed with the car.

Race 1, with Calderón behind the wheel, was run in wet conditions from the very start. The Colombian driver led the race while fending off relentless pressure from British driver Will Redford in his Mercedes-AMG GT3 for the majority of the contest. She was only overtaken in the closing laps and crossed the finish line in an impressive second place, putting the team in an excellent position to fight for the overall victory.

Juan Diego Hernández took over for Race 2 under similarly unpredictable conditions. Rain returned shortly after the start, prompting an early red flag. Although Hernández had briefly lost the lead after stopping for rain tyres, the race stoppage restored him to first place, while Redford’s Mercedes had encountered issues during its pitstop. From there, Hernández controlled the race to take the checkered flag in first place. Calderón’s second-place finish combined with Hernández’s victory secured the overall GT Challenge Americas win in Guyana for the Nacent Racing duo, capping off a weekend in which adaptability, teamwork and driving talent proved decisive.

For Calderón, the result is yet another demonstration of her versatility and competitiveness, making the most of a car she had only just been introduced to under race conditions.

Tatiana Calderón:

“Sometimes the best stories happen when plans change. What looked like what was going to be a difficult weekend ended with an unforgettable victory. Huge thanks to Nacent Racing, Juan Diego Hernández and everyone who made this result possible. Adapting so quickly to the McLaren 720S GT3X, taking pole position, setting the lap record and ultimately winning the event was incredibly rewarding.”

Tatiana’s next race will be the NASCAR Brasil round scheduled for the weekend of August 1–2, where she will aim to build on this upward trajectory and continue fighting for podium positions.
