Tanak re-joins Hyundai for 2024 WRC season alongside Neuville

Ott Tanak, WRC, Hyundai

Ott Tanak is back with Hyundai for 2024 WRC season alongside Thierry Neuville after a small stint with M-Sport.

With a clear intention to compete at the forefront of WRC in 2024, we will field the proven title-winning line-up of Thierry Neuville and Ott Tänak in our i20 N Rally1 Hybrid next season. The Estonian, alongside co-driver Martin Järveoja, returns to Alzenau with the goal of adding to the five rally wins he claimed during his previous stint with our team.

“In exploring our options for 2024, I opened a discussion with Ott, who was excited by the renewed ambitions and structure that we are putting in place,” said Cyril, our Team Principal. “We are pleased that he is ready to resume the unfinished business that he has with our team. We are delighted to welcome Ott back into our fold and look forward fighting for more together in our next chapter,” added our President Sean Kim.

A winning partnership

Boasting a combined total of 37 WRC wins during their illustrious careers, Ott and Thierry both played a key role in the defence of our manufacturers’ crown in 2020. Together they form the core of the impressive squad that will represent us at the pinnacle of rally next year.

“With Thierry and Ott, we have two of the most talented and competitive crews leading the charge for our 2024 campaign,” commented President Kim. The re-signing of Ott alongside Thierry reaffirms our commitment to the WRC. The 2024 season is also an important milestone in our history, as it marks the tenth anniversary of our debut in the series. With that in mind, we will take time to explore all options for the remainder of our WRC line-up for next season.

Ready to compete

Having experienced a number of memorable moments during his previous three years with our team, Ott arrives excited to be back behind the wheel of our machinery once again. “Since our paths parted exactly one year ago, the team has been working very hard on the new technical structure,” explained the Estonian driver.

“Hyundai Motorsport has a clear vision and target for the near future, and it is something that convinced me to join our forces again. Our goal in this new chapter will be nothing less than to win all the three titles, and with the new structure of the team, we have all the tools needed to achieve it. Game on!”
