Lance Stroll didn’t have much joy in F1 2024 season barring the races in Silverstone and Canada, as he hopes for a better 2025 but expects challenge.
Aston Martin as a whole did not enjoy the 2024 F1 season where the team did finish fifth, but ran as the seventh or eighth best team by the end of it. While Fernando Alonso had a slightly better run, Stroll did not enjoy as much with just six points finishes in the 24 rounds.
Such was the season that Stroll doesn’t even remember much and that his best result was sixth in Australia. When asked about the highlights, he could only recall the races in Silverstone and Canada, where he finished seventh both the times. “I don’t know, where’s my best result? I don’t even know,” he said.
“You tell me where my best result was, and I’ll tell you that. We’ve just had like P7s, P8s and stuff. I liked driving the car in…where was it, Silverstone? Yeah, and Canada. We had an exciting race and had a good result. So yeah, off the top of my head, maybe those ones. Not what we were all hoping for, result-wise, wanting.
“Yeah, but now the focus is on next year. So, there’s always things to work on, for sure. So yeah, going to be pushing to be better next year. That’s definitely the hope, for sure. Yeah, that’s what we’re all hoping for,” summed up Stroll. While he hopes for a better run, he expects it to be a challenge still, considering the cars pretty much remains the same.
In addition, the mindset is towards 2026 changes more. “I think it’s going to be a challenge,” said Stroll. “We’re pushing as hard as we can, but we have a lot of work to do. So, where we were at the beginning of last year, probably difficult. But if we can be a step more competitive than we are this year, that would already be, I think, very good.”
