The American driver Sting Ray Robb will make his debut in sports cars with United Autosports this winter season, after four years competing in the IndyCar Series.

At the age of 25, Robb will drive the #22 ORECA 07 Gibson, sharing the cockpit with young driver Ian Aguilera and seasoned veteran Giorgio Roda. United Autosports, led by Zak Brown and Richard Dean, will look to reaffirm its prestige as the champion of the 2018-19 series.

The competition will consist of three events that will be held entirely at European circuits, given the current situation in the Middle East. The season will start at the Circuit Paul Ricard on November 14 and 15.

Robb has expressed his excitement about joining United Autosports: “I am very excited to participate in the Asian Le Mans Series. Being able to compete against some of the best drivers in the world at IndyCar has given me a lot of experience, and now I am ready to take on this new challenge”.

After achieving two top-ten finishes during his time in IndyCar, Robb considered several options for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2027, but his focus shifted to the Asian Le Mans, positioning him for a broader LMP2 pathway.

“One of the things that attracted me to United was the winning culture they have built,” said Robb. “This is an organization that knows how to compete for wins and championships, and that is exactly what I want. Endurance racing presents a different set of challenges, but the goal is the same: to fight at the front and win”.

Moreover, the combination of talents in the team adds interest: Aguilera had a standout season in the European Le Mans Series, finishing ninth in the standings, while Roda brings stability and knowledge, having competed in the ELMS LMP2 Pro-Am.

United Autosports has confirmed a multiple entry for the winter series, with Robb’s vehicle lined up alongside a second lineup that includes Mikkel Jensen, Hunter McElrea, and Phil Fayer.

United Autosports CEO Richard Dean commented, “It is exciting to see drivers from various disciplines entering endurance, and we are eager to support this transition. We intend to fight for wins and for the championship”.
