Guenther Steiner, CEO of Tech3, has stated that he prefers to stay out of the contractual controversy surrounding Maverick Vinales and KTM, assuring that the situation does not involve either him or his team. This decision comes after Vinales claimed that KTM had presented him with a new contract for the 2027 season, which recently became invalid.

The comments from this rider, who has won ten races in the MotoGP, have caused great concern, especially at a time when he is preparing for the German Grand Prix. Vinales expressed his frustration at the treatment he received from the Austrian team, which included criticism regarding his recovery after an injury.

Although Vinales competes with Tech3, both he and his teammate, Enea Bastianini, have direct contracts with the factory, signed before Steiner took the reins of the French team. Steiner emphasized that, despite his personal opinion, he does not want to interfere in the situation.

“I am not involved in his contract. It is a contract between Maverick and KTM,” Steiner indicated. The CEO of Tech3 has stated that, for now, his priority is to maintain distance from the dispute and focus on other aspects of his role as team director.

Vinales, who had received an offer to join the KTM factory team, found himself facing the team’s refusal due to his initial performances this season. Recently, KTM announced the signings of Alex Marquez and Fabio di Giannantonio, while Tech3 is looking for a new rider to share the box with Luca Marini.

Furthermore, Steiner has stated that the relationship with Vinales may be irreparable, and that the current situation may complicate future collaborations between him and KTM. “This situation is difficult to repair, and it’s not good,” he added.

Regarding the future of Tech3, he commented that for the 2027 season, riders will be hired directly by the team, allowing him greater control over the lineup. However, he clarified that no definitive decisions have been made regarding possible signings or acquisitions.
