Oscar Piastri maintained top spot in FP3 in F1 Spanish GP ahead of teammate Lando Norris, with Charles Leclerc picking up pace to be third.

It was a slow start to FP3 in F1 Spanish GP at Barcelona as the big hitters took their time to venture out, giving time to others to go around. It was smooth mostly apart from few side dip on the gravel for Visa Cash App RB’s Liam Lawson and Haas’ Oliver Bearman.

But it was no major trouble. McLaren’s Lando Norris had a larger off on the tarmac on his fast lap which allowed teammate Oscar Piastri to end up on top in FP3 of F1 Spanish GP after his 1m12.287s lap. The Brit had to go around again to finish second, just above half a second aloof.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc upped his pace to be third from Mercedes’ George Russell, who ventured out a bit later than others. He dropped Red Bull’s Max Verstappen to fifth, who also had a gravel dip towards the end of the session. Visa Cash App RB’s Isack Hadjar was sixth from Mercedes’ Andrea Kimi Antonelli.

Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso was eighth after a good lap ahead of Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton, as Lawson rounded out the Top 10. It was a good run for both the Sauber drivers too with Gabriel Bortoleto ahead of Nico Hulkenberg in 11th and 12th, respectively.

They went for larger straightline speed in a different strategy. Williams’ Carlos Sainz only managed 13th after a late run ahead of Red Bull’s Yuki Tsunoda, who continued to complain about sliding. Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll slotted in 15th ahead of the Alpine pair.

It was Pierre Gasly marginally ahead of Franco Colapinto, as Haas’ Esteban Ocon was 18th from Williams’ Alexander Albon and Bearman. The Thai driver only managed one quick lap as the team detected an undisclosed issue, which needed investigation.
