Sirotkin takes the pole at the home round

On Saturday morning, Russian Sergey Sirotkin won the pole in the World Series by Renault at home circuit Moscow Raceway.

Testing pilot Sauber F1, which also became the fastest on the results of Friday’s practices, the first time improved in the second series of fast laps, the first time for the weekend coming out of one minute and 21 seconds.

Low temperature of the track did not allow the opponents to the right degree Russian warm up new sets of rubber – as a result no one crept closer to the time Sergei than two tenths of a second.

Roberto Merhi could easily qualify for the second place in qualifying, but in the last seconds of his session interrupted time champion of last year’s Formula Renault Eurocup Pierre Gasly.

Unexpected problems became championship leader Carlos Sainz Jr. (team DAMS), which even before the start of this weekend, the Spaniard warned that stage in Russia can become one of the toughest in the season.
As a result, driver’s French team – Sainz and Norman Nato – showed only the 16th and 19th times respectively. Worse Frenchman drove a Roman Mavlanov, also representing Russia.
