In a bizarre news coming from the Hungagoring paddock, Williams confirmed on Saturday that Sergey Sirotkin indeed gifted bracelets to his side of the garage.
The Williams pit crew were spotted wearing a piece of jewelry around their wrist during the 2018 Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix weekend, as news spread about Sirotkin gifting them with gold bracelets.
The news was then confirmed by the Grove-based team that the joke between the Russian and the engineers resulted in Sirotkin gifting his crew those bracelets. “You may have noticed some new features on Sergey’s side of the garage this weekend.
“It was a little bit of a joke that started a few races back between his engineers and car crew which has now resulted in Sergey getting these little beauties for his whole car crew here in Hungary.
“It made them all smile though and it’s great to see morale high despite the difficult time everyone is going through on track. Thanks Sergey,” it stated. The team also posted a photo of the bracelet on its Twitter feed.

The team is going a troubled F1 season as it sits last in the constructors’ championship with four points courtesy Lance Stroll. However, the Canadian is speculated to move away from the team at the end of the season.
With the Force India team under administration, Stroll’s father Lawrence is one of the said buyers/investors of the outfit which will see then Lance driving for the team. Should it happen, Sirotkin could stay with Williams for another season.
