It was another superlative performance from Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton in the 2018 Formula 1 Singapore GP to extend his points lead over Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel.

Ferrari certainly started as favourites for the Singapore GP considering the issues Mercedes face on the twisty circuit. But every year, Mercedes managed to still chip away when their rivals faltered for various reasons.

It looked the same until Friday but there was a performance switch then on Saturday with a monstrous lap from Hamilton to take pole. The British driver then remained unbeatable on Sunday to further extend his advantage to 40 points over Vettel.

The German, on the other hand, started well to clear Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen but then conceded the position to the Dutchman and was forced to settle for third ahead of Valtteri Bottas, Kimi Raikkonen and Daniel Ricciardo.
