Shwartzman gets an important pole at the Nürburgring

Robert Shwartzman has taken the pole position for the first race of the weekend of the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0. The Russian has beaten team-mate Max Defourny and Red Bull junior Dan Ticktum.

Strange weekend for the Formula Renault that forms part as support series inside the FIA WEC in Nürburgring.

The classification has been divided into two groups as usual. In the first group, dominance by Max Defourny (R-ace GP) setting the provisional pole lap-time with a 1:55.463. The Belgian, however, has been closely followed by Sacha Fenestraz (Josef Kaufmann Racing).

With a track in better conditions the second group has improved Defourny’s lap. It was his teammate Robert Shwartzman (R-ace GP) who set a spectacular 1:54.750, three tenths faster than Arden’s of Dan Ticktum.
