Sébastien Ogier stays in hospital after his accident at Rally Finland

Sébastien Ogier has confirmed that he and his co-driver, Julien Ingrassia, are in good condition after a shocking accident while leading Rally Finland. The duo suffered a high-speed accident during special stage 17, when their Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 went off the road and rolled several times.

Despite the severity of the incident, both Ogier and Ingrassia exited the vehicle without assistance and were taken to the hospital for medical examinations as a precaution. After these tests, the team has confirmed that both drivers will stay in the hospital overnight as a safety measure.

Sébastien Ogier expressed his gratitude to Toyota for the vehicle’s sturdiness, emphasizing that thanks to this resilience, they were able to emerge unscathed. Through social media, he also thanked Ingrassia for his immediate reaction after the accident: ‘We are fine, which is the most important’ wrote Ogier.

Following the quick incident, Ogier’s teammate Sami Pajari has taken the lead in Rally Finland and will enter the last two specials with a 46.4 seconds advantage over Oliver Solberg.
