Sébastien Bourdais quickest in Practice 2 in Mid-Ohio

Topping the time sheet in the second Verizon IndyCar Series practice session on the 2.258-mile, 13-turn Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course was a great start for the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio. Bourdais, driving the No. 11 Mistic KVSH Racing car, recorded a lap of 1 minute, 6.8271 seconds.

Overall, the lap time in the afternoon session was seventh-quick on the day in preparation for the 90-lap race Aug. 3. Bourdais posted a best lap of 1:06.8192 in the morning session. More than 650 laps were turned.

Justin Wilson takes his place at the top of the screens ahead of Ryan Briscoe in the beginning of the session. Takuma Sato moves to the top of the screens with a 1m07.3215s lap. Honda occupies eight of the top 10 places after 20 minutes of starting practice 2.

Simon Pagenaud has spun and beached himself in the gravel trap at Turn 4. The Frenchman was sixth-fastest at this moment. The stricken Schmidt car has been rescued from the gravel and is able to drive back to the pits without any apparent damage. Ryan Briscoe moves to P1. The Australian also led the session a little earlier, but was bumped back by Wilson. Carlos Huertas spins at the entry to the final sequence of corners, and with only a minute or so left on the clock, the session is ended. Bourdais finishes the day on top. Some drivers have saved the tires and drove not so many laps.
