The German has been the fastest on the night of Singapore, narrowly beating his compatriot Rosberg. After them have finished a surprising Grosjean with Lotus. Alonso could only be 7 º after Massa and Raikkonen has fallen in Q2.
The drivers have taken a few minutes to go out on the track, and when they have been out for a first try, they did it with hard tyres. Others, like Sauber, have gone directly to the soft. Both Red Bull, meanwhile, have been able to make the cut using hard tyres. They were the only ones with Romain Grosjean. Hamilton led the session followed by Button, Alonso and Perez. The eliminated in Q1 have been Di Resta, Maldonado, Pic, Van der Garde, Bianchi and Chilton.
In Q2 the Red Bull have returned to their usual positions and Vettel led the session with a time layer. The Mercedes were left in them using an used tyre. They have also managed to pass Grosjean and Ferrari with a surprising Esteban Gutierrez, who beats his teammate for the first time this season. The McLaren have decided to gamble on a single attempt and Button passed byluck, but Sergio Perez has not suffered the same fate. Ricciardo was the other driver in Q3, while Hulkenberg have been eliminated (with Kers problems), Vergne, Raikkonen (who complained of back problems after the Free practice 3) Perez, Sutil and Bottas.
Sebastian Vettel was already on pole after performing a single lap that has earned to be the fastest. The German has been nervous since the box watching how some drivers improved their times in some areas, but none managed to snatch the pole. Nico Rosberg has been very close, only 0.019s behind. The 3rd has been Grosjean, who has been very in shape all weekend. Fernando Alonso finished in 7th place, once again behind his teammate Felipe Massa.
