Despite there isn’t an oficial press release, it’s known who will drive for the italian based team Trident on 2018 season of the Formula 2 championship. Yesterday it was leaked trhough the indonesian website The Citizen that Arjun Maini and Santino Ferrucci will be the choosen drivers.
So this season, both test and development drivers from Haas F1 team will pair up on this formation which isn’t the best of the championship. In fact, Ferrucci, also competed for Trident in 2017 from Hungary weekend trough the end of teh season, taking a seat, which previously was filled by Raffaele Marciello, Sergio Canamasas and Callum Ilott. For Maini, this will be his debut season in Formula 2.
“I’m very excited to be competing in the FIA Formula 2 championship with Trident Racing”, told the indian driver, Arjun Maini, who was ninenth in GP3 with Jenzer last year, including the win on the first race of the season at Barcelona. “I felt we were quite competitive during the post season test and given that the series is using all new cars for the coming season, I’m quite excited for the year ahead.Trident is a very strong team and I’m sure if we work hard we’ll be in for some strong results during the course of the season.”
The american driver, Sangtino Ferrucci, who also compete mid season in 2017 with Trident, it’s called to be the leader of the team. He started at Hungary, where he socred 2 points on the feature race. On the next weekend, on the belgian track of Spa-Francorchamps, scoring the last 2 points who will be scored on last season.
