Sainz win the first race in Nürburgring

Carlos Sainz Jr has turned it’s pole position in another victory while his main rival, Pierre Gasly, was last out the rest. The podium is completed by Roberto Merhi and Sergey Sirotkin after an off Oliver Rowland in the penultimate corner after gearbox problems.

As usual, Carlos Sainz has become one pole to another victory in a race that arose in the wet but the rain has only made an appearance on the final lap. Good career Roberto Merhi, who could go to the second step of the podium in the final analysis. Too bad Oliver error Rowland, who has been nervous and he can not keep the second position when he failed sixth gear.

Sainz kept the lead in the first corner and escaped in the first round. Merhi ahead Sirotkin and almost does with Rowland, but has not been able to have been placed on the outside of the line. The first three pilots escaped having between them only one second away while Buller parked his car in the eighth curve.

Slight disputed positions. Gasly still in seventeenth place, tried to take the Sixteenth Mavlanov, but without success. Top positions widened his distance dialing Sainz fastest lap after fastest lap. Luca Ghiotto, then in eighth place, caused another caution parking his car in Turn 3.

At the eleventh round, Gasly Mavlanov attacked at the end of long and straight but it was on the second try. From the outside, the Russian pilot was blocking the door and the two collided, Arden Motorsport having to stop to change its front. French bad race, which was leaving the group from the back while his opponent was leading the race.

The pace of Spanish was overwhelming. Carlos Sainz kept away from second place and the only one capable of fighting for a front position with Merhi was Sergey Sirotkin, to clinch the last step of the podium.

Last lap and oil on the track appears on the last corner while at the same time a heavy rain comes. This approach allows Merhi Rowland, Sirotkin after leaving behind, and this pressure causes the Fortec pilot long ago, leaving the podium to Merhi and Sirotkin and goes to a fourth position. Its gearbox had begun to fail back to the top; will not enter the sixth gear has been nervous and even being able to hold the position for most of the lap. British Big mistake.

With this race Carlos Sainz widens the championship lead after the last position of its main rival, Pierre Gasly, has also been on the verge of losing the top spot to Oliver Rowland, fourth place today.

The second race will be tomorrow at 12:35h.
