Ryan Blaney secures pole position for NASCAR race in Richmond

The starting grid for Saturday night’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond Raceway is now set. Ryan Blaney of Team Penske has secured pole position with a record time of 22.225 seconds, and he will share the front row with Chase Briscoe, who clocked a time of 22.275 seconds in his Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota.

Blaney commented after qualifying that the cloud coverage was a favorable factor. “The clouds have benefited some of us, and the car performed well during practice. Qualifying here is always challenging. I hope our performance is competitive,” said the #12 driver.

The third position went to Josh Berry, followed by Ty Gibbs in fourth and William Byron in fifth. Ryan Preece claimed the sixth position, while Bubba Wallace, Christopher Bell, Brad Keselowski, and Joey Logano rounded out the top 10.
