Bautista was the first to sign a fast lap in the Q1, while Randy de Puniet (Suzuki) and Hernández (Pramac) proved that the times were lowering with each turn. Pirro (Ducati) proved it himself by taking the first place 10 minutes before the end. In the second fast lap, Bradl was first followed by Pirro and Redding, which helped him reach the Q2.
All the racers stopped halfway through the session to put on the last set of tyres. However, none was able to better their times,
Rossi was the first to beat Iannone’s time, but he was quick to come back in the front. Marquez was second but in the turn 4 he fell just like he had earlier in the morning and he finished 5th.
Under the checkered flage, Rossi remained the only one able to beat Iannone in what was a very disputed session.
