The current runner-up of the championship was the fastest of both sessions although problems in both sessions at Spa-Francorchamps for the Belgian Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton finished second as Daniel Ricciardo was third in the 2 practices sessions.
Nico Rosberg was the fastest of the day despite two issues in the two practices sessions. In the first practice, the German had a gearbox problem, and in the final practice of the day, the Mercedes AMG Petronas driver suffer a puncture at his rear right tyre at Blanchimont where he spun and causes one of the red flags of the day.
In the first practice, Pastor Maldonado spun off and crashed, causing the red flag for some time. Something similar happened to Marcus Ericsson on the second practice at Pouhon.
Anyway the Mercedes continued on top and they were the unique team that set a lap faster than 1m 50 sec.
The third and final practice session will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. as the qualifying practice will start at 2 p.m. at Spa-Francorchamps.
