Nico Rosberg has achieved the pole position for the Hungarian Grand Prix of Formula 1.The German driver will start in the front row together with 4 times world champion Sebastian Vettel, in second place. Bottas will start third.
Q1
The session began with 18 minutes contributing very hot weather and many clouds on the Hungarian sky. Next, Pastor Maldonado was parking his Lotus and leaving the qualifying session. It was not the only scare, as Lewis Hamilton had the back of his car on fire while entering the pit lane, the British had not even made a lap, being him the favorite to get the pole position. Contrary to this problem of Hamilton, Rosberg led the session.
The struggle through to Q2 was reduced with these 2 drivers out of combat and Max Chilton with problems with his car during the final minutes. Bianchi got through to Q2 while Raikkonen who had remained in the box could not do it.
Q2
In the Q2 as always we saw the Force India as the first out on the track, along with Toro Rosso. But Robserg also would be the leader of the session with only one lap completed. The same would happen with the Red Bulls, which classified immediately behind.
The struggle to pass the Q3 intensified in the last seconds when Kvyat suffered a spin on the third sector, making anyone improve their times.
Q3
Before the start of Q3 rain started to make a slight appearance, and this caused the drivers to leave immediately with the softer tyres. But the rain did not stop and increased its intensity when making quick laps initiated, Rosberg was out of track at turn 1 and Magnussen also could not help but hit the wall and end their classification with a wrecked car. This caused the red flag to came out on the track to remove the car from the Danish.
While the session was stopped, the track was drying as the rain stopped in many areas of the circuit. This meant that drivers will not hesitate to go with the softer tyres. The first lap of the driver made Bottas leader followed by Alonso, Button, Massa and Ricciardo. These strange results are explained by the conditions of the track, which constantly improved. Vettel halfway through the session was the leader but Rosberg could make the fastest time of the session with 4 minutes remaining.
With time 0 and the checkered flag on the track, all improved their times and Vettel was out of first place due to Rosberg and his time, half a second better than that of his compatriot. Rosberg takes another pole this year.
