Rosberg gets the last pole of the year

Nico Rosberg won the last battle to his teammate and championship leader Lewis Hamilton who after a series of small mistakes has not managed to reduce the time of the German. The Finn from Williams, Bottas, will start third. Fernando Alonso with an uncalibrated motor will start tenth.

We arrived to Abu Dhabi where today celebrates the last qualifying of 2014 season, the traffic light turns green and the cars go to the tunnel to get out on track.

Sergio Perez was first although Massa and Bottas from Williams came to dominate the table. But that is until the two Mercedes were in first and second place, were they belong, with a considerable distance between them and the rest. Behind Fernando Alonso tested a new engine and was placed in the thirteenth position.

Grosjean was eliminated together with Gutierrez, Maldonado, Kobayashi and Stevens.

Q2 began with a tense calm since nobody left boxes, finally everyone but the two McLaren would come out.

All drivers did a stint on soft tires, with both Mercedes in first and second positions, and Massa and Bottas in third and second.

Finally came the McLaren in the absence of four minutes but they had no time to do anything at all, while eveyone was trying to improve their previous times, in fact the Williams became second and third.

Eliminated in Q2: Sutil, Hulkenberg, Perez, Magnussen and Vergne.

Then began the Q3 where the first flying laps of the Mercedes and Williams were very evenly matched, although the German mark went ahead. The change was that Rosberg commanded the table, ahead of Hamilton who spent braking at the last corner.

Finally Rosberg took the pole after some suspense since Bottas and Hamilton fought fiercely for pole, but the Finn lost a lot of time in the last sector and a series of small problems deprived Hamiltonof another pole.

Fernando Alonso starts tenth after being braking the whole time in the two attempts made in Q3.
