Nico Rosberg topped the second free practice without letting anyone dominate it. Behind him was Hamilton and already more than half a second, the two Ferrari. Merhi have not yet been able to go out and Sainz showed a good performance.
The lights turned off and Felipe Nasr started the show followed by Ericsson, leaving Van der Garde out of the circus. Ricciardo has not taken part in the session because the engine was not mounted on the RB11 neither did Felipe Massa due to a leak in the radiator.
The first time was from Kimi Raikkonen and Grosjean followed him although he spent braking in Turn 3 and tested the erbs.
The drivers began to find their limits and both Perez and Maldonado spent braking in Turn 3 and in the penultimate respectively.
A quarter of an hour passed by and Kevin Magnusen lost control of his McLaren at Turn 6 and ended against the wall, causing the deployment of the red flag to remove the MP4-30.
With the car already out of the loopholes, the session was resumed and the first out Valtteri Bottas came out inmediately. Vettel was still leading ahead of Hamilton and Raikkonen.
The Finn got to the top, although Vettel surpassed him in the next lap, both using the soft compound.
From the garage Manor still did not get good news because the car was not mounted and was not going out in this session.
Ahead things remained the same, the two Ferrari were followed by the two Mercedes, until Rosberg gave a fist on the table and pulled off the Ferrari taking the lead and then Hamilton did more or less the same.
Little activity on track and a few drivers were starting to make long runs.
A lack of 25 minutes, Carlos Sainz spun the same way Ricciardo did in the first session, without consequences but leaving a scare for the Spanish. Mercedes continues showing their difference and their low times, everyone did long runs. Nothing would move for the rest of the session.
