Rosberg at the pole in Hockenheim

Nico Rosberg has achieved the pole position of the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim-Baden Württemberg circuit. His teammate has suffered brake problems and only finished 16th. Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa followed the driver of Mercedes in the first three places.

Q1

With 32°C in the atmosphere and 55°C on the track, qualifying session of the German Grand Prix has started with Jules Bianchi as the first to appear in the track.

Immediately the drivers with Mercedes engine led the session with Hamilton and Bottas in the top positions, unlike the local driver, Nico Rosberg who went off the track. But the went off of the track most important has been by Lewis Hamilton who suffered a spin in the stadium area. The British complained of brake problems, which have made impact his car against the protections of curve 13 in a violently way. This fact caused the red flag.

After thus, Nico Rosberg immediately made a time to enter in Q2. Drivers have started the fight for the access to the next qualifying session which would cause that the Red Bull’s drivers were forced to use the super soft tyres like Ferrari.

Finally, Sutil, Bianchi, Maldonado, Kobayashi, Chilton and Ericsson have been eliminated.

Q2

Rosberg and Williams have led the Q2 where the pilots have tried to do the minimum possible laps due to the tire degradation and therefore everything has been decided in the last seconds of the session.

Finally the eliminated drivers have been: Button, Räikkönen, Vergne, Gutierrez, Grosjean and Hamilton.

Q3

The final fight for the pole position was between Rosberg and Williams drivers. The German managed to be the first to go down the 1min17sec in the session during their first fastest lap. The time were unbeatable by Valtteri Bottas and neither would improve the Mercedes lap time.
