Rins suffers fracture after Italian GP sprint crash

Alex Rins has suffered fracture to his leg after a crash in MotoGP Sprint in Italian GP as he will undergo surgery and is out of the grand prix.

Following a crash during the Tissot Sprint at the Italian GP, Alex Rins has broken his right tibia and fibula and will undergo surgery on Saturday evening. The LCR Honda rider was taken to Careggi University Hospital in Florence following the incident, where he is receiving medical attention.

LCR Honda Castrol posted to their Instagram to provide an update on the situation:

“Alex Rins has suffered a fracture to his tibia and fibula. The rider will undergo a first surgery this evening at the Careggi University Hospital (Florence), where doctors will attach an external fixator to stabilize his right leg and reduce swelling. He will remain under observation, and once cleared, he will return to Spain to undergo a final surgery.”
