Richie Stanaway will make his return to Formula Renault 3.5 at Spa just two years after the accident that made him leave the single seaters.

Richie Stanaway will come back to World Series by Renault at Spa this weekend. The kiwi driver already competed in Formula Renault 3.5 Series back in 2012, but he had to finish his season due to a vertebrae fracture caused by an accident with Carlos Huertas, also in Spa.

There is not official confirmation about the team where he will make his return, but it seems that it will be replacing Matthieu Vaxivière in his former team Lotus WSR. The French driver suffered the same destiny as Stanaway and broke a vertebra during the race in Monaco last weekend.

Stanaway is currently racing in the GP3 series and he is in second in the standings. He also raced in the Spa WEC round and scored a second place finish in the GTE AM class.
