Daniel Ricciardo was fastest at the Hungaroring for the second free practice session. Sebastian Vettel and Valtteri Bottas completed the top 3.

Ricciardo set the fastest time in both free practice sessions today, giving Red Bull some hope for their chances of challenging Mercedes and Ferrari for the win on Sunday. Vettel was 2nd in the afternoon session, less than 2 tenths behind the leader. Bottas was 3rd, which means that both free practice sessions have had a Red Bull, a Ferrari and a Mercedes in the top 3 positions. Räikkönen, Hamilton, Verstappen, Hülkenberg, Alonso, Sainz and Vandoorne completed the top 10.
While Giovinazzi lost control of his Haas in FP1, it was Wehrlein who crashed at the same corner in FP2. That was the end of the session for the Sauber driver and the first red flag of the session. The second one was caused by Palmer after losing the rear of his Renault in the last corner. McLaren couldn’t stay out of trouble either, as Vandoorne had to go back to the pits very slowly, ending his session earlier than expected.
