Daniel Ricciardo, second today in the 5th day of 2017 Formula 1 pre-season testing at Barcelona-Catalunya circuit, accepts that are other teams looking better than them, and also is confident about how to solve the issues that they are suffering.

The Australian commented that he is happy about how Red Bull is working but accepts that Ferrari and Mercedes are in front of them, while Williams is showing his real potential

“I feel that the car is starting to evolve a bit, and I’m still optimistic that we know [how to] keep improving it.

“I’m not sure we’re quite on Mercedes or Ferrari level yet, but we’re getting there. Ferrari certainly look quick. I’m sure Mercedes will still be very quick.

“Even though Williams didn’t run much last week, the day they did get a good run in, I actually thought they looked quite good as well – today they showed that.”

He also accepts the Red Bull problems despite been confident with the car potential:

“At the moment there’s no big secret or anything, we’re not sort of holding two seconds in our pocket.

“We feel we can still get more out of the car, but I think everyone can. Hopefully not Williams, hopefully that was their best today! But I think Ferrari and Mercedes can still get more out of theirs.

“Once that all happens, we’ll see, but it’s looking alright. It’s my third day in the car, and I’d say from day one to day two, and day two to day three, I’m getting happier with it.”
