Brad Keselowski, co-owner and driver of RFK Racing, has shared that the team is exploring various options to secure a third charter for the upcoming season. Currently, the organization has three cars, but only has two secured charters, leaving the situation quite uncertain.

In the last season, Ryan Preece has driven the number 60 car, which has utilized rented charters from Rick Ware Racing. Now, Keselowski has confirmed that the team is in the market to purchase a third charter, although there are no offers available at the moment. “I’m not aware of any charter that is for sale, but if one comes up, we will be ready to talk to the sellers,” Keselowski commented.

After the recent sale of one of Rick Ware’s charters to Legacy Motor Club, RFK Racing cannot make any more rentals. The charters have a very high market value that can exceed 80 million dollars, due to the increase in their value as permanent assets following an antitrust lawsuit in the NASCAR world.

At a media meeting at Texas Motor Speedway, Keselowski noted that the team has several contingency plans to address the current situation, with the aim of fulfilling commitments made to drivers and partners. “We haven’t stopped looking for a charter and, if we don’t succeed, we’ll find a way to manage our commitments,” he added.

Despite the challenges posed by the lack of a third charter, Keselowski emphasizes the advantages of the charter system, as it has enriched the competitive level of NASCAR. “The charter system has improved the health of the middle of the competition; believes this is a good sign for the sport,” he concluded.

In this context, Ryan Preece, who is currently competing with two rentals, finds himself in an uncertain situation, but Keselowski is confident that the team will find the right solution for the future of its drivers.
