Red Bull will reveal the re-branded Alpha Tauri F1 Team in a special launch in Austria in February as the outfit moves on from Toro Rosso.

The change in the name to ‘Scuderia Alpha Tauri Honda’ was confirmed by the FIA during the F1 Abu Dhabi GP, as the team is destined to move from the current name of Toro Rosso, which has been in place since the start of its journey in 2006.

Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz had bought Minardi in 2005 and renamed it to Toro Rosso from 2006 F1 season onward, to make it its junior team. After 14 years, the energy drinks company has decided to re-brand the outfit, using the name of its other firm.

They launched Alpha Tauri, its own clothing company, in 2016, which is based out in Austria. So far, neither Red Bull nor Toro Rosso has officially mentioned about the change in public but behind the scenes, they have taken all the steps towards the re-branding.

And so, the re-branded Alpha Tauri F1 team will have a special launch – unlike the grid reveal – on February 14, 2020, in the certain presence of Pierre Gasly, Daniil Kvyat and Franz Tost, at Red Bull’s Hangar-7 in Salzburg, Austria, from 7 PM onward (local time).

The Faenza-based F1 team is the second outfit to reveal its launch date with Scueria Ferrari launching its 2020 car on February 11 at Maranello. The outfit will look to better its results in 2020, having finished sixth in 2019, with two podium finishes to its name.
