The Spanish rider got his 5th pole position of the seasion in Brno with a 1:54.596, a new lap record for the circuit. The podium was completed by Lorenzo and Iannone.
Pedrosa unsurprisingly dominated Q1 with a 1:55.793, followed by Smith. Petrucci on P13, Redding, Leverty, Baz, Hernandez, Bradl, Bauti and Rabat on P20 will close the starting grid tomorrow.
Iannone started strongly in Q1, but Lorenzo stole P1 from him. Meanwhile, Márquez was trying to improve his time. It seemed like Lorenzo had secured his pole after improving his time even more, but Márquez set the record of the circuit in the following lap and got the pole for tomorrow’s race.
