Trackhouse Racing has confirmed the renewal of the contract with driver Raul Fernandez for the next two MotoGP seasons, namely 2027 and 2028. This decision comes after a negotiation period that has lasted nearly six months.
The main obstacle in the negotiations was the duration of the contract; Fernandez wanted a two-season agreement, while the team sought a more flexible solution. Ultimately, both parties have reached a satisfactory agreement.
The owner of Trackhouse, Marks, expressed his satisfaction, stating that they are delighted to continue with Fernandez, who has shown total commitment to the team’s objectives during his stay. Marks highlighted the driver’s growth in both his driving style and his preparation and maturity.
Fernandez, at just 21 years old, made the leap to MotoGP in 2022 after standing out in Moto2, where he achieved eight victories. After a difficult year with the Tech3 team of KTM, he joined the RNF team of Aprilia and is currently completing his third season with Trackhouse.
His MotoGP career has begun to shine, having achieved one victory and several podiums. He already has three podiums this season, in Thailand, Assen, and Sachsenring, and is pursuing his first victory of the year.
For 2027, it is expected that Fernandez will share the team with Enea Bastianini, who will also reunite with Trackhouse after freeing himself from his contract with Tech3-KTM. This change promises to bring a new dynamic with the full support of the Aprilia factory.
