Räikkönen aims for pole with quickest time in FP3

Kimi Räikkönen set the fastest time in free practice three at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit in Spain. Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton completed the top 3.

The session started with issues for Bottas due to a water leak which forced him to miss most of FP3. Mercedes decided to change the engine and go back to the previous spec without the upgrades they brought to Barcelona. Vettel also had some issues which shortened his first stint, so he could only be 4th while his teammate Räikkönen led ahead of Hamilton and Verstappen.

Räikkönen improved by more than 2 seconds in his first attempt with the soft tyre. Vettel went up to P2, 2 tenths behind Räikkönen, but his Ferrari stopped in the pit lane when he was on his way out for a new run. Hamilton was 3rd behind the Ferraris, 4 tenths behind Räikkönen, while Bottas managed to grab P4. Verstappen and Ricciardo were 5th and 6th once more, 8 tenths and 1 second behind the leader respectively. Hülkenberg, Massa and Spaniards Sainz and Alonso completed the top 10.
