Raffaele Marciello set the fastest time in the 45-minute GP2 free practice session at Silverstone on Friday morning for Racing Engineering. Ferrari protégé showed excellent speed and remained on the first line from the start of the session, consistently improving their results. As a result, the Italian drove lap of 1.41,127.  

His mate Stefano Coletti Racing from Engineering finished second, losing more than one-tenth of a second. At the end of the session he made a mistake in turning Beckets and spun on the track, but for him there were no serious consequences.

Alexander Rossi of Caterham showed the third time. It is noteworthy that the American used the helmet of his teammate Rio Haryanto.

Overall leader Jolyon Palmer became the fourth, but the Briton obviously not feeling very comfortable in the car several times to travel outside of the track.

Johnny Cecotto showed the fifth time, beating Felipe Nasr, whose car stopped on the line Hangar at the end of the session.

Russian Artem Markelov is located on the 22th position, losing the leader of a little more than one and a half seconds.
