The journey home for Racing Bulls drivers after Spa

After an intense weekend at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, Racing Bulls drivers Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad shared a flight with EasyJet back home. The image of both traveling in economy class, just a few seats apart, has caught the attention of followers, who might expect Formula 1 drivers to use private jets.

Upon confirming their arrival at the Hungaroring paddock, Lawson and Lindblad explained that, unlike some of their grid mates, they continue to fly commercial airlines. Lindblad candidly shared that, for economic reasons, he prefers regular flights. ‘I don’t have much money, so I keep flying on regular flights,’ he commented. ‘There’s nothing wrong with that. I’ve done everything so far. If I can save, I do it gladly, even if I have more money’.

The two drivers, who flew together with proximate seat assignments, took the opportunity to talk about their recent duel during the race. Lindblad managed to surpass Lawson after an intense battle at Eau Rouge and along the Kemmel Straight. ‘We talked about that,’ Lindblad said, adding that they maintain a good relationship off the track, despite the competition inside the car.

The post-race impressions were positive, with Lawson acknowledging that his rivals are becoming increasingly competitive. ‘It was a really good fight. I don’t know how many cars have gone side by side at Eau Rouge like we did,’ he said. All in all, this demonstrates that, aside from rivalry, camaraderie among drivers is a highlighted aspect of their experience in the racing world.
