Quaife-Hobb rules the GP2 race 2 in Monza and wins his first GP in 2013

Today will be remembered as the first time of Quaife-Hobb.

A great start of the Hilmer Motorsport’s driver garanteed first position at the end of the race.

Doubt of the rain affected all the race, and the result of the race always undecided.

But here a little history of race:

Before start Rosenzweig stalled on the grid and pulled away.

Lap 1

Quaife-Hobb started and lead the race immediately.

Bird, Leal, and Richelmi contact and lost their positions, while pole sitter Rossi down to P5.

After contact Richelmi has a a broken front wing.

In the rear of the race, Nasr up to P15 behind Coletti.

Calado stalled.

Lap 4

Abt under investigation for tyres not fitted properly

Hilmer Motrosport’s engineer says to Quaife-Hobb: Push a little more.

Dillmann had problems with tire wear and the box suggested: Save your tyres as long as you can!

Lap 6

10 seconds penalty for Abt for tyres not fitted properly.

Canamasas Team radio: The track is getting faster.

Quaife-Hobb always P1.

Lap 9

Rain is beginning to fall

Calado first to come in for wets from last place

But he was immediately refuted when Rossi Team radio: No rain after this short shower!

The EQ8 Caterham Racing’s driver is under Quaife-Hobb to challenge for the first place.

Fabio Leimer of Racing Engineering team performs the best lap of the race with 1:32.749, and shows again who is the championship leader.

Quaife-Hobb wins!!!

Rossi and Leal complete the podium.

After Monza driver’s championship standings has Fabio Leimer as leader with 159 pts followed by Sam Bird with 153 pts.
