Nicolas Prost took the pole position for today’s FIA Formula E race at Battersea Park, London. The Frenchman took an advantage of being in group one, avoiding the rain. Senna will start alongside the Renault e.Dams driver as local Turvey completes the top3.

Rain, chaos, and crashes. That’s how we can define today’s qualifying session at Battersea Park.

After a delay of 10 minutes, group one created more delays with Jean-Eric Vergne (DS Virgin) crashing into the wall. Nicolas Prost (Renault e.Dams) set the fastest time in the group in front of Robin Frijns (Andretti Autosport).

In the second group another red flag made stop the session. This time was another Frenchman, Stéphane Sarrazin (Venturi Racing) who crashed. As the marshals retired the car from the Toyota WEC driver, the rain made his appearance and when the green flag returned, Simona de Silvestro (Andretti Autosport) crashed as well.

Oliver Turvey (NEXTEV TCR) and Bruno Senna (Mahindra Racing) took the advantage of this situation to set a lap to be in the superpole.

Then it was the time for group 3 where the championship leaders, Sébastien Buemi (Renault e.dams) and Lucas Di Grassi (ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport) fight in the same conditions. As a result, Di Grassi finished on a provisional seventh position as Buemi finished last of the group.

In group 3 we didn’t had any red flag but in group 3 yes we had it. Mike Conway (Venturi Racing) who was the quickest on track, went off and destroyed his chances to be in top10. Sam Bird (DS Virgin) made a goof lap but he couldn’t fight for superpole. The British driver needed to set the pole in order to fight for the championship.

The track was drying out and that helped to Nicolas Prost to set the pole position in front of Bruno Senna and Oliver Turvey. Robin Frijns finished fourth –his best qualifying result in FIA Formula E.
