KRISTIANSTAD (SWEDEN)– Kristianstad Karting Klubb (Sweden) is the place where will take place the CIK-FIA OK World Championship, which is the most important competition for the OK class drivers. Qualifying practice will be next Friday 21th of September and the final will be on Sunday 23th of September.

OK class is well known for the high level of the drivers, who some of them are professionals. But this year there is a driver who must be considered in a special way. This is the German Hannes Janker. TB Racing Team’s driver won WSK Super Master Series and CIK-FIA European Championship; the two most important competitions. Janker won two European rounds with an incredible performance during all the weekend.

European vice champion, Harry Thompson (Ricky Flynn Motorsport), is one of the revelations of this season. He must be on the fight for the final triumph. Behind him in the European championship standings there is Spaniard Pedro Hiltbrand.

Thompson team mate, Zane Maloney, is other driver who could win this final and become World champion in Kristiantad. He finished 4th at the European championship and his improvement has been considerable.

Neither can we forgive Tony Kart’s drivers. Finnish Juho Valtanen and Spaniard David Vidales finished in 5th and 6th position respectively in the European championship. Furthermore, Vidales also achieved the third position in the KZ2 World Cup, which took place in Genk (Belgium) two weeks ago.

Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG): “As seen in KZ in Belgium, the World Championship in one round does not allow for errors and every technical itch costs dearly. The whole path towards the Final must be perfect. This was the case two years ago when I won the title in Bahrain with CRG and I hope I can live a similar weekend this time too in Sweden. We know we have a great potential both in terms of chassis and TM engine. We are focused and will do our best to get the highest possible result.”

Kas Haverkort (Zanardi): For this race as always I will try to do my best. The qualifying is one the most important things, so we will have all the set-up right to achieve a good lap. If it would rain I think we will have a good performance because in Holland we do a lot of race under this conditions.”

Last year the winner was Zanardi Racing Team’s Danny Keirle, who got the triumph in PFI (Great Britain). Behind him finished David Vidales and Juho Valtanen, who raced with Kosmic Racing Department, completed the podium.
