Postponed the 42nd Santa Brígida Rally due to Storm Therese

The 42nd Villa de Santa Brígida Rally, which was scheduled to take place today, Friday, and tomorrow, Saturday, March 21, will ultimately not be held and has been postponed. The decision has been made due to the alert situation triggered by Storm Therese, whose adverse conditions are expected to persist throughout the weekend, making it impossible to guarantee the proper running and safety of the event.

As a result, the much-anticipated participation of Diego Domínguez alongside Rogelio Peñate, as well as Andrea Lafarja with Germán Maune, will have to wait. Both crews had arrived in Gran Canaria aiming to use the Villa de Santa Brígida Rally as a key event in their preparation for the Rally Islas Canarias, especially after their positive performance at the Safari Rally Kenya, where they secured podium finishes in their respective categories.

In the case of Domínguez–Peñate, this rally was set to serve as an important asphalt test ahead of the World Rally Championship round, a surface on which the Paraguayan driver continues to gain experience.

Meanwhile, Lafarja–Maune were approaching this rally as their asphalt debut with the GR Yaris Rally2, focusing on adapting, gaining mileage, and finding a good setup.
