Porsche confirms partnership with Red Bull no longer happening

Porsche has confirmed that the potential partnership with Red Bull is no longer happening in F1 after talks fails between the two.

It was a strange situation when Audi announced its F1 entry at such a quick instance than Porsche, who were believed to be in talks with Red Bull for far longer period. Reports of no common ground started to flicker in with the two parties still in discussion.

But the last few weeks gave suggestions that it may not happen at all. And it has been confirmed by Porsche after its latest meet. The statement from the German manufacturer states that it is a join conclusion by the two parties after long talks.

Porsche states that the premise of the partnership was equal footing for both, but that was not happening for both engine and the team. This ends the potential partnership with Red Bull, but the car maker will continue to monitor its F1 entry by other means.

At the same time, Red Bull could end up convincing Honda to stay put beyond its current deal of 2025 season, but it remains to be seen how it shapes out to be. “In the course of the last few months, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG and Red Bull GmbH have held talks on the possibility of Porsche’s entry into Formula 1.

“The two companies have now jointly come to the conclusion that these talks will no longer be continued. The premise was always that a partnership would be based on an equal footing, which would include not only an engine partnership but also the team. This could not be achieved. With the finalised rule changes, the racing series nevertheless remains an attractive environment for Porsche, which will continue to be monitored,” said Porsche in a statement.
